Working with Solidarity
The story today has evolved from the experience of COVID, and Courage’s support and funding of the new Love in a Bowl project. We are wholly committed to the provision of food and nutrition to the needy and vulnerable in our community.

“I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.” ― Nelson Mandela
About Courage
The Courage Initiative was born out of crisis and the need to stand together as one in order to triumph.
We bring together heroes, communities and NGOs to work with solidarity to overcome difficult times.
Our focus is on pooling people, funding and resources in the most cost-effective and impactful way to address the most dire needs of affected communities.
Our Mission
To inspire all Africans to have the Courage to stand as one and create a safer more resilient society.
Hunger Crisis
The most serious consequence of any crisis is the lack of ability to have food on the table. If people from all walks of life collaborate, everyone can eat.
Our Start
A Hout Bay resident launched Courage in April 2020, on the eve of her first round of serious invasive surgery to try to beat her pancreatic cancer. She wanted to support the hungry of Hout Bay, so that they, too, could face life without fear in their battle against the myriad of challenges spawned by Covid-19. Now, through Love in a Bowl, and the amazing food gardens they have created, the aim is for her Courage to continue to feed the hungry for as long as they are in need.

Where your money goes
We want you to know that 100% of the money you donate is used purely in the effort to eliminate hunger from our communities affected by the economic downfall from Covid-19. We are working towards a future where no one goes hungry.

How WE Work
We safely deliver food and aid, door-to-door for the people that need it.
Local Partners
We are providing funding and assistance to local NGO’s, Community Groups, Churches, and Sports Clubs, all of which have trusted relationships within our communities. Love in a Bowl is a new initiative receiving funding for their long term food supply model.
Distribution of Food & Aid
We are collecting funding from donors as well as the community. With great governance over this generosity, we are ensuring everything donated is getting to where it is most needed. Funding and logistics are provided by Courage directly to community initiatives.
Procurement & Delivery
Courage endeavours to procure both staple food parcels as well as fresh produce and works directly with our trusted partners who deliver it straight into the community. The new partnership LoveinaBowl receives funding to create nutritional organically grown veggies for those in need.
