For the duration of the past 180 days, it’s felt like World Food Day for us every day.
The best way we can celebrate is to take this moment to say a heartfelt thank you for all the support you have shown Courage and our partners, enabling us to act with solidarity on your behalf. With your support, we have managed to avoid what looked like an inevitable hunger crisis in Hout Bay and surrounding communities.
This pandemic pushed thousands more of our neighbours below the Bread Line – our national measure of poverty for people who can barely afford a loaf of bread for survival. You, the community, acted swiftly to help Courage ensure food was available to every corner of these communities. A true act of courage that has had an immense impact.
The real miracle of these past six months has been the amazing generosity, offered up day after day, by individual donors, local businesses and friends from abroad.
We have delivered food aid to 10’s of thousands of neighbours:
Food Parcels Delivered
Tons of fresh veggies
Meals Provided
Families supported
THANK YOU TO EACH OF YOU FOR YOUR INVALUABLE INPUT & SUPPORT!
As we recognise World Food Day, we have come to understand that, together, we have the power to create a hunger-free future for all vulnerable communities. This is our focus going forward.
We are determined to MAKE EVERY DAY our very own World Food Day, as we strive to #EliminateHunger. We would be honoured and grateful for your continued partnership in helping us to grow our food program and network of support.
We cannot wait to let you all know what we have in store for our community. Courage aims to use a substantial amount of funding received towards a long term food supply model to support the community. The Courage team has now partnered officially with “Gracie love in a Bowl”, to supply funding to launch a new offering to the local community. Keep your eye out for LOVE in a Bowl…
We need to mention the incredibly long list of NGO’s who received support from Courage and who worked tirelessly with the Initiative to make sure that our community was led through this trying period.
THANK YOU TO EACH OF THESE NGO’s WHO AIDED US IN MANAGING THE COMPLEX LOGISTICS. WE WILL CONTINUE TO SUPPORT YOU WHERE WE CAN.
