Richard Scott Orgasmic Joyride – 150cc Primavera and the 100 x 100m Graffiti Spray on marine ply artworks , will be on display at Houtbay Gallery from 12:00 Saturday 13 June.

For those who love art and a Vespa as a mode of transport are all too familiar with the collaboration between Richard Scott and the Vespa brand.

Some awesome video footage on the product in process:

Richard’s ‘Naive meets Pop art’ style seems to gel perfectly with Classic, colourful and fresh Vespa Brand. His art has been described as ‘Thoughts produced through objects in their simplest form with colour and purity’.

“When art and creativity meet, they are dangerous luxuries and addictive bedfellows. Without art, Vespa would be just another scooter, without creativity, Vespa would be just a stationary sculpture! It is in this mix and the discipline surrounding it that Vespa has found its longevity and strength of Brand.” – Andy Reid, owner of Vespa South Africa.

The Courage Initiative is honoured to be able to align its cause with such an amazing artist, not forgetting,  the enormously generous donations of extraordinary items like: bucket list travel, adventure, fine art, food and wine, and other “nice to have” ’s.

Bidding on the auction items is already abuzz – with the final auction event kicking off at 17h00 on June 16 th – Youth Day in South Africa and the duration will be approximately 2 hours. Much admired local MC and auctioneer Joey Burke with the  ssistance of live virtual performances by Zolani Mohala and Alan Committie will be helping participants to dig deep and claim their winning bids!
