On 27 April – Freedom Day, which honours the anniversary of South Africa’s first non-racial election of 1994 and pays homage to the country’s liberation from Apartheid rule, Kola Cohen, who previously volunteered at Love in a Bowl to be of service to the community, will be paddling 27km to raise support for 27,000 meals.
As a young 19-year-old from Hout Bay, he believes that everyone can use their skills, talents and abilities to help improve our community.
Paddling on a prone board, Kola will be participating in the Freedom Paddle, an initiative where paddlers paddle from Cape Town to Robben Island to pay tribute to Nelson Mandela and the struggle heroes who fought for South Africa’s freedom.
so, Kola isn’t paddling for endurance, he’s paddling for love
Kola’s goal is to raise sponsorship for 1,000 community pots. Each pot serves 27 meals, meaning we can provide 27,000 meals to those in need.
Do an act of love for Freedom Day – support Kola’s Paddle for Love and sponsor a community pot today!
