Courage representatives and Gordon Aeschliman, who is heading up the Love in a Bowl growing operations, welcomed Ilan Kaplan yesterday to our new location. Ilan, who is the MD of Aria Property Group, also represents The Scheinberg Relief Fund that is funding the Courage/Love in a Bowl upscale project to provide continual food to the needy in our community. He came out to see the first 9 circles that have been planted and are growing in the beautiful spring weather since our engagement with the foundation. He also visited the original farm where the program initially started to gain an even better understanding of how the funding will be put to use.

BE COURAGEOUS

We were honoured to be introduced to Ilan’s friend, the chief activist of the One South Africa Movement, Mmusi Maimane, who accompanied Ilan for the tour of the sites.  Mmusi and Ilan, work closely, due to The Scheinberg Relief Fund being a major funder of OneSa. The tour was interesting for Mmusi as he has worked closely on food relief throughout lockdown, offering food security to the most vulnerable communities through active community engagement and mobilisation. Ilan brought Mmusi along as he has been looking into sustainable farming solutions.  On hearing about the Hout Bay Grow Project, he said he would love to visit, to learn more about our methods.
